Daniel Chojnacki,
MS, LPC

PSYCHOTHERAPIST, OWNER

Daniel Chojnacki, MS, LPC practices psychotherapy from a person-centered, solution focused perspective, and serves clients in both English and Spanish languages. Dan’s core belief is that each client is a unique human being with boundless potential for continuous personal growth and happiness. Dan approaches the therapy relationship with curiosity about a client’s strengths, life story and desired targets for change, and designs personalized treatment plans tailored to the values, goals and dreams of each individual, couple or family he serves.

In his therapy practice, Dan considers the roles of family, culture, and major life events in shaping our life stories and the paths we take to find happiness and wellbeing.

Dan focuses on the strengths and resilience of each client, while also understanding that trauma, quality of early childhood relationships, and major losses often influence our development as human beings. Dan incorporates a wide variety of activities that promote mindfulness, emotional self-awareness, connection to nature, creative self-expression, and growing through our relationships with others.

As a musician, nature-lover, and practitioner of meditation and yoga, Dan emphasizes the value of daily health and resilience practices in constructing a life of meaning, health and contentment. Many of Dan’s clients choose to incorporate activities that tap into music, nature, body awareness, being outdoors and increasing connection to others as part of their personalized treatment plan.

Dan is a Milwaukee native and currently lives in Milwaukee with his wife and two children. Dan graduated from Macalester College with a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Literary Studies, and while studying also lived in Spain and gained Spanish fluency. Prior to completing training as a counselor, Dan worked for over 10 years in community programming serving youth and families in areas of recreation, employment, education and community development.  In 2013, Dan graduated from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Master’s in Community Counseling, focusing on multicultural counseling and trauma-informed therapeutic approaches. Throughout Dan’s training with youth, adults, couples and families, Spanish-language counseling has been a central interest and area of professional development.  Dan completed his training working with young couples preparing to have their first baby at the Milwaukee Young Parenthood Program, through the UW-Milwaukee Zilber School of Public Health. Dan has also served as a psychotherapist and supervising clinical director with local private practices while developing Evergreen Wellness Mke, and serves as a clinical supervisor for a counseling research team in Lima, Peru developing an evidence-based counseling protocol for healthy co-parenting in young couples.
